Single Mariners of Marina del Rey

Whether you own a boat or not, or have boating experience or not, if you have an interest in enjoying the Los Angeles-area waters, you're invited to enjoy the fun and friendship we offer.

How we work

Single Mariners has been around since 1987.  We re a non-profit, non-commercial club providing sailing activities in a friendly and relaxed environment so single adults in the Los Angeles-area can share their enjoyment of sailing.

Our day sails alternate between Saturdays and Sundays. Meetings are in Marina del Rey on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month. The sails are always on the Saturday following the 1st monthly meeting and the Sunday following our second meeting.

On the day of the sail we meet for breakfast, then drive to our respective boats. After an afternoon of sailing, we usually meet up with the other boaters and share the food we've brought.

At times we also have other events such as overnight cruises to Catalina Island and parties. Many of our members become friends and crew for one another on their own. Sometimes boat owners come around seeking a partner to share ownership and responsibilities for their boats.

Are you a boat owner? Check us out!
Do you belong to another singles group? Lets share listings.
Have ideas for expanding our group? Let us know.

Want to join us or learn about us?

Just come on down to the Pacific Mariners Yacht Club13915 Panay Way, Marina del Rey — at 7:00pm on any 1st and 3rd Thursday. Seriously, just come on down. We welcome all people--whether you have sailing experience or not!

You can park about half way down Panay Way in the lot on the left where there's a boating shop, then walk along the water to PMYC. Don't worry about the signs--you are our guests!  There are signs prohibiting parking on the street and cars have been ticketed there.  Please park in a parking lot to avoid fines.

Please bring $7 in cash for your meeting donation. This donation covers club costs and typically gets you a member-organized light buffet so you can come directly from work without stopping for dinner. (Beverages are available from the yacht club's bar. Drinks range from $3 to $5).

If you're looking to sail

At your first meeting, the volunteers at the desk will give you a waiver to fill out so you're all set to sail. We have a photo album you can look through to get to know some of us and some of our boats. As skippers come in and volunteer their boats, we'll have sign-up sheets for the weekend sail. If you'd like to go out on one of the boats offered, just put your name and phone number down.  You may sign up at any time during the evening as long as there is room.  This gives you time to get to know the skippers before you sign up on their boat.

If you have a boat

Skippers and boats are always welcome! Just let our Fleet Captain know if you'd like to take people out. If you have a photo of your boat, it helps to bring it along. There are no specific requirements for skippers to offer their boats, other than to have fun!  Please feel free to come and get to know us.

The day you take your boat out with us, we'll buy you breakfast!  At the following meeting, your fee is on us!
